The chair of culture and social and the Arts disciplines is all-academical. Its task is to provide students of all faculties with studying classical humanitarian samples of world and national culture; to teach abilities to distinguish and realize outlook problems in the context of the past and modern public and cultural life; to educate students skills to think independently based on the knowledge of the national and world classical samples of culture.
     The most part of the teachers working at the chair have great experience in scientific-pedagogical and educational work. The educational process is built on the base of the programmes worked out by the teachers of the chair. The programmes are approved by the Scientific council of the Academy and corresponded to the modern demands of, the academical education and specific character of the high institution of fine arts.
     The teachers of the chair teach world history, the history of Ukraine, the history of philosophy, aesthetics and the history aesthetics thoughts, psychology of artistic creation, the history and the theory of world culture, the history and the theory of Ukrainian culture, sociology of culture, the fundamentals of state law, the fundamentals of economic theories, the fundamentals of pedagogy and psychology, the practical stylistics of Ukrainian language and etc.
     Philosophy of art, aesthetics and philosophical contents of modern researches in artistic culture, the problems of the national and cultural revival in Ukraine, common and Ukraine ethnography, ecology of culture are taught, as well, to enrich studying humanitarian disciplines. The experts from the Institute of Philosophy, the Institute of Archaeology, the Economics University have part-time work here.
     The chair is a base for holding Ukrainian Students Olympic Games on aesthetics. The students of high institutions of culture and art, universities, pedagogical institutes take part in it. Besides, the chair constantly holds scientific-theoretical conferences and seminars on the actual problems of culture and art.
