of the senior lecturer Mykola Tytov

The studio of restoration of the works of art was virtually created at the same time with the creation the chair of technique and restoration of works of painting in Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1969. But nominally it was created in 1994 when two education studios were created - the restoration of works of art and the restoration of works of decorative art.
The first chief of the studio was A. Belyai. Since 2000 it has been headed by the chief of the chair of the technique and restoration of the works of art assistant professor M. Tytov. Other teachers are Y. Korenyuk, V. Lyush, T. Tymchenko, V.Tsytovych.
Becoming a real, professional restorator tares a lot of time. Therefore, much attention is paid to the practical lessons together with theoretical and technology of ancient tempera and oil painting to understand better the logic of building of the monuments of art.
The main credo in students` training is the scientific approach to the restoration the monuments of art, attentiveness and responsibility, teaching students such way of thinking when creative impulses are limited consciously for the sake of the sharpest preservation of the real look of the works of art. The main factor is that the process of studying is made on the museum's exhibits: the first, it increases the responsibility of a student and a teacher, the second, the authorities of museums advise on the restoration methodology. As far as because of the objective circumstances the choice of the restoration materials is possible, the students get acquainted with new restoration materials and methods.
The system of teaching enables the graduates to work independency in the field of the restoration of the museum works of art.
The most famous regent works of students are the diploma work of T. Makarova (restoration of the portrait of Kateryna ІІ), diploma works of N. Girnyak, I. Vorovych, A. Varvarov, O. Ustynchenko, T. Toropova, O.Desyatynchuk, T. Chubaryeva (restoration of the group of portraits in Vyshnevetsky Castle), diploma work of V.
