The educational-creative studio
of the professor Olexandr Lopukhov

 

   The professor O. Lopukhov leads the educational-creative studio of painting since 1973.
     The present-day professors of the academy V. Gurin and L. Vitkovsky worked there as assistants in different years. The senior lecturer G. Yagodkin, the apprentice of O. Lopukhov, has been working at the academy as an assistant since 1989.
     During his long-term pedagogical work O. Lopukhov has been developing art and pedagogical principles of the Ukrainian realistic school and of the outstanding painter O. Shovkunenko, who taught him, in particular. Productions executed at the studio differ with their refinement and are very picturesque. The educational tasks provide the solution of different problems of colour combinations by students: as bright, sated on scale productions, as the constructed on the interaction of the drawn together colour tone ratios ones are practised. The apprentices of the studio get skill to reach an effect of material existence of represented things, to mould the form with courageous picturesque touches and at the same time to achieve accuracy of figure even in sketches.
     Special attention is paid to the method of painting of a thematic easel picture. Deep study of life, internal world of heroes and searches of original compositional decisions are put in the basis of the work. Thoughtful individual work with the students, support of creative initiative provides a stylistic variety of degree pictures.
     More than 100 apprentices of the studio have protected degree works during the years of its functioning. There are 11 foreigners - representatives of Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cuba, and Mongolia among them. Such apprentices of the studio as O. Bilyansky, V. Svinariov, A. Ya. Zorko, M. Sochenko, O. Yasenev work as teachers at NAFAA; L. Voyedylo, N. Yevtushenko, Ye. Postoyuk, L. Antonyuk, O. Dobrodiy carry out active exhibition activity in Ukraine and abroad. The graduates of the studio live and work in the different countries of the world: Canada, Germany, Slovakia, USA, and Uzbekistan.
     The best graduates of the O. Lopukhov's studio and also young painters from Canada, China and Finland improve their skill at the assistance-probationer course under the leadership of O. Lopukhov.
