The studio of easel painting under the management of M. Guyda was created rather recently, in 1993. It stood out as an independent educational division of the chair of painting and composition from the studio of easel painting of people's artist of Ukraine, valid member of the Academy of arts, the professor V. Shatalin and follows its traditions with dignity.
     Besides the professor M. Guyda, the head of the studio, the professor, merited artist of Ukraine O. Basanets, and also senior teacher O. Yasenev work at the studio.
     The main task, which the teachers put before themselves is the formation and development of professional skill of the young artists, is to reveal their creative potential on the basis of great traditions of realistic school. The individual approach and careful attitude to the creative person of the student are the basic principles of work at the studio. The range of the selected themes, plots for degree pictures is not limited, there are also no restrictions in a choice of a genre, from a landscape, portrait, easel plot picture to the compositions, such, as diorama and panorama.
     The graduates of the studio were rather often recommended by a State examination commission to enter the post graduate or assistance-probationer courses at the National academy of fine art and architecture; they successfully unite creative and pedagogical activity in the specialized higher educational institutions and schools of Ukraine and abroad (Afghanistan, Canada, Moldova, Russia, Seyshell islands, USA, Uzbekistan etc.).
     The majority of the studio's apprentices have become the members of the National artists' union of Ukraine, are the participants of numerous all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions and festivals, winners of many premiums, are marked by honourable ranks, bring in the significant contribution into the development of the national art of Ukraine.
