In 1993 the scientific council of the Ukrainian art academy ratified new structural organization of creative studios, according to which alongside with the existing studio of free graphics of the professor A. V. Chebykin, the studio with similar specialization was opened under the leadership of M. I. Kompanets (professor since 1995).
     The realistic art principles form a basis of the studio's activity. The purpose of the teachers is to educate spiritually rich person with deep knowledge in the field of the achievements of national and world art; training of experts of a wide range, whose activity should result with highly artistic products of graphic art.
     Apprentices of the studio are guided by creation of products in realistic-romantic direction with application of original author's techniques. Thus the free possession of printing graphic techniques is obligatory.
     The leading creative method of the educational studio is individual approach to each student taking into account his creative abilities, his own way in art. The constant search of the representational form and its perfection is one of the main requirements to the future artists.
