The long-term head of the chair of architectural designing the professor M. Katernoga was the leader of the studio till 1988. L. Skoryk has been leading the studio since 1989. The senior teacher of the chair of architectural designing G. Oliynyk works at the studio.
There are 22-25 students at the studio in total.
The surrounding approach to designing of architectural object - a separate structure or whole town-planning complex is the main creative creed of the studio. The significant attention is paid to town-planning aspect in designing - not only in the process of elaborating projects of a settlement, residential area or other town-planning formation, but also working at the projects of separate structures and complexes, in particular when reconstructing historical settlements. The problems of interrelation of old and new in the conditions of reconstruction of fragments of urban building and harmonisation of an object with natural environment in recreation zones have the great importance.
The students have the task to search modern forms and compositions in harmony with the existing building, without quotation or compilation styling, creating artistic architectural image by means of pure, not overloaded composition and space - planning integrity. The leading principle is: the architectural aesthetics is formed at the level of harmonious, functionally - planning and tectonic solutions, which stipulate an aesthetics of all volumetric - spatial composition and architectural form.
