Was born in Frunze, on 16 June, 1943.
Art-critic. Candidate of art-criticism, the member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine. Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute (the faculty of theory and history of art. Studied at post-graduate department in the Scientific-research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts in the Academy of Art in the USSR under the leadership of M. Volkov.
Scientific works: "Illustrations of children's book" (candidate dissertation, 1968), "Russian Art in the second half of the XIX-th century - the beginning of the XX-th century" (in the book "Russian Art", 1976); series of articles on the classical art and creative questions in modern art.
Has been working in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1968, since 1997 - Professor. Teaches courses in "The history of Russian Art in the second half of the XIX-th century - the beginning of the XX-th century", "The analyses of works in graphic arts". The member of the special council on the defence of the candidate dissertation on art-criticism and architecture in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
