Yury Mykolayovych Yatchenko

 
 


    Was born in Ripky town, Chernigiv Region, on 12, July, 1928.
Painter. Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, the member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine.
Worked as a deputy director, director teacher of special subjects in Kyiv Art Secondary School by T. Shevchenko (1957-1963), the chief of art exhibitions department in the Ministry of Culture in Ukraine (1968-1970).
Works in the field of easel painting and drawing (the author of many works on historical and everyday life themes). Prefers portrait and landscapes genres. The works have thoughtful and logically built dramatic comprosition of sujet, sharp plastic forms, academically constructive drawing. Publishes articles on teaching art in scientific editions.
Works: painting 'In far suburbs' (1957), 'With dreams for peace. Rescue of masterpieces of Drezden Art Gallery by Soviet soldiers in 1945' (1959), 'Monach Semen Paly' (1960), 'Grain - growers' (1974), 'Lovers' (1975), 'Thoughts of our mothers. Chornobyl, armenian and afganistanian mothers' (1990), 'Venera Crimean' (1994).
Has been working in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1963 (chair of drawing), since 1982 - professor. From 1974 till 1980 - prorector on educational work.
