Lev Ivanovych Vitkovsky

 
 


    Was born in Tula (the Russian Federation) on 26 August, 1931.
Painter. Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, the member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine. Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute (O. Shovkunenko's studio) in 1958. Takes an active part in au-Ukrainian and international exhibitions and competitions. Winner of diploma at the international exhibition to the memory V. Neverov in 1998.
Works: 'First builders' (1963), 'Farm market' (1965), 'Peace. The family portrait' (1971), 'In the farm' (1971), 'Old Podil' (1974), 'Mother-of-pearl day' (1986), 'The last reporting' (1987), 'Requiem to the Great Kobzar' (1989), 'Let soul to be happy as a girl' (triptych, 1991), 'Betrayal to Christ' (1993), 'Pyeta' (1995), 'Summer day in Plyuty' (1997), 'Torzhok, suburbs' (1998), triptych 'Diana' (2000), 'The portrait of the wife' (2001), 'Self portrait'(2001).
Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1959, since 1982 - professor. Teaches painting, drawing. From 1976 till 1984 - the dean of painting, graphic and sculpture faculties.
