Igor Petrovych Shpara

 
 


    Was born in Kharkiv on 30, May, 1936.
Architect, townbuilder. The Full Member of the Academy of Architecture in Ukraine and the Academy of Art in Ukraine, foreign member of Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences; People's Architect of Ukraine, State Prize of Ukraine winner, the Member of the National Architects Union (it's president); deputy chief of the Committee on State Prizes in Ukraine in the field of architecture.
Graduated from the department of architecture in Kyiv Fine Arts Institute (professors V. Zabolotny and N. Chmutina). From 1960 till 1990 worked in the Institute "Kyivproject".
Architectural projects-Ukreximbank in Gorky Street, 127-129 (1996) in Kyiv. Buildings: in residentional areas Livoberezhny (1967-1977), Mykilska Borshchagivka (1970-1989), in Gorky and Bozhenko Str. (1985-1995), complexes of Buildings in Suvorova Str. 5 (1968-1985 co-author), at the crossroads of the streets Melnykova and Pugachova (1981-1991), new buildings of the university after T. Shevchenko, projects of the prayer Houses (1996), St. Godmother church (1999), - all in Kyiv.
Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1972 (the faculty of architecture), since 1993 - professor, since 1989 - the chief of educational-creative studio of architectural projecting.
