Was born in the village of Zemlyani Hutory, Saratov Region (the Russian Federation) on 15, November, 1926.
Painter. The Full Member of the Academy of Art in Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Art in the USSR, People's Artist of Ukraine, State Prize Winner by T. Shevchenko, the Member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine. World War II veteran. Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1953. Studied at the studio under the leadership of K. Trokhymenko. Had a creative work from 1953 till 1966. Works in the fields of the battle-painting, thematic picture, portrait and landscape. The dominating idea is a subject on the themes of historical events in the 20th century and other periods. The works have strong-romantic emotion and epicism. Painting manner has a rich colour play. Works: "On the valleys and hills" (1957), "Military task" (1960), "World" (1964), "These days are unforgettable", "Lenin is dead", "Military units of young soldiers gathered", "The story about the North" (1977), "The beginning of autumn" (1980), "It is raining" (1981), "Horses" (1981), "The battle for the Dnipro river" (1983), "Stand up, our great country…" (1984-1985), "The night story" (1987), "At the sunrise" (1990), "The Carpathians" (1992), "The afternoon" (1993), "Windy Day" (1995), portraits of G. Maiboroda, M. Nagnybida etc. Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1966, since 1976 - professor, since 1977 - the chief of the educational-creative studio of easel painting.
