Was born in the village of Luka Meleshkivska, Vinnytsa Region on 8 March, 1944.
Architect. Candidate of architecture, the Full-Member of the Academy of Architecture in Ukraine, Honoured Culture Worker of Ukraine, the member of the National Architects Union in Ukraine, the President of the Ukrainian Committee of the International Council on the Concervation of the monuments of history and culture (ICOMOS).
Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1973 (educational-creative studio under the leadership of P. Kostyrko). From 1973 till 1977 - the chief of the architectural-restoration department of the Republic scientific-industrial administration of the Ukrainian Committee on protection the monuments of history and culture.
Works in a field of the protection and restoration the objects of architectural heritage, one of the authors of the exposition in the Museum of people's architecture and way of life of Ukraine. And 50 realized projects on the restoration of the monuments of architecture, such as mills in the village of Horodyshche, Vinytsa Region (1974), in the village of Borovytsya, Cherkasy Region (1977), the house in the village of Berezhnytsa, Ivano-Frankivsk Region (1976), the bell tower in the village of Tovste, Ternopil Region (1977), the church in the village of Kanore (1979), the house in the village of Synevirska Dolyna, Zakarpattya Region (1981).
Has scientific-research work in a field of restoration and protection the objects of architectural heritage, the author of more than 100 scientific works, including "People`s architecture in Ukraine. Protection and restoration" (1987), "Stone architecture in Ukraine. Protection and restoration" (1993), "Methodics of protection and restoration the monuments of people`s architecture in Ukraine" (1997), "Temples in Ukraine" (2000).
Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1973. 1979-1989 - the dean of the architectural faculty, since 1989 - the chief of the educational-creative studio of the architectural projecting. Since 1990 - the assistant professor, since 1994 - professor, since 1993 - prorector on scientific work. His pupils are famous architects and scientific workers.
