Oleksy Vasylyovych Kozhekov

 
 


    Was born in the village of Khodorovychi, Mogylyov Region (Belarus) on 7, May, 1941.
Painter. Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, the member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine.
Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1967 (the studio of the monumental painting under the leadership of V. Chekanyuk).
Works in the fields of the easel painting , monumental - decorative art, easel and book graphic art.
Works: monumental - decorative art - "The monument to the heroes" (mosaic, Kryvy Rig, 1972-1973), painting "The grandfather and the grandson" (1968), "Holidays" (1968), "Cossak`s Church" (1978), "At shipbuilders" (1981), "The sun in Rivne Region" (1989), "Women`s silhouettes" (1991), "Deltoplans in the sky" (1991), "Over the Bug River" (1999), the series of the pictures "By the legends of Ukraine" (1997-1999), the series of the landscapes of the Crimea and the south of Ukraine (1999-2001); graphic art "Poet Mykola Syngayivsky" (1975); illustrations - "The sons about Christmas tree" by I. Nehoda (1974), "The gay travelers" by B. Chip (1983), "And what happened the next?" by N. Kulyk (1984) etc.
Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1973, since 1994 - professor, since 2000 - the chief of the studio of the monumental painting. Trains post-graduate students. From 1989 till 1996 was the dean of creative faculties.
