Mykhailo Yevgenovych Guyda

 
 


    Was born in the village of Tykhenky, Pavlivsk District, Krasnodar Region (the Russian Federation) on 18, December, 1954.
Painter. The Full Member of the Academy of Art in Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, the Member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine, I. Ogiyenko Prize Winner. From 1989 till 1992 was a chief of Kyiv Branch of the Artists Union in Ukraine.
Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1982 (the educational-creative studio of the easel painting under the leadership of V. Shatalin). Studied at post-graduate department in Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture after I. Repin (under the leadership of V. Oreshnikov).
Taught painting at Chjen Jan Teacher's Training University (China, 2000-2001), Honoured Professor of that university.
Works in the fields of the easel painting and graphic art. The main themes of works are emotional being of the man and nature.
Works: painting - "In the steppes near Kherson" (1972), "Silence" (1983), "Praying for" (1987), "Women of Kioto" (1989), "The sleep near the sea" (1990), "The angels' game" (1991), "The portrait of the actor B. Benyuk" (1994), diptych "Lady Day" (1995), "Charming Lee-Vei" (1998), "The family portrait in eastern clothes" (1998), "Geisha and Samurai" (1998), "Meeting between I Mazepa and Charles the Xth in Girky" (2002); graphic - "Near the stream" (2000), "The girl with a fan" (2000), diptych "Love" (2000).
Has been teaching in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1982 (the chair of painting), since 1995 - professor, since 1993 - the chief of the educational-creative studio of easel painting. .
