Was born in Kyiv on 7, September, 1936.
Painter. The member of the Academy of Art in Ukraine, the International Academy of informatization, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Art in the USSR, People's Artist of Ukraine, the member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine, M. Ostrovsky prize winner.
Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1962. Teachers - V. Kostetsky, K. Trokhymenko, S. Grygoryev. Studied at studios of the Academy of Art in the USSR.
Works in a field of easel painting. Created the gallery of images from the life of Ukrainian people, concentrating it's phenomena in laconic sujet compositions, portraits, landscape motifs.
Works: 'Friends' (1959), 'Ukrainian kumantsi' (1960), 'The high prize' (1960), 'Immortality' (1973), 'The holiday of harvest' (1983), triptychs 'Italy' (1990), 'Lilac' (1990), 'Heritage' (1994), series of sketches 'Ukraine', 'Scotland' (1995), 'Bulgaria', 'Norway', 'France', 'Carpathian motifs', 'Crimea', series of portraits and still-lives.
Has been working in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1968 (the chair of painting and composition), since 1984 - professor. Guides the group of post-graduate students in easel painting.
