Was born in Kyiv on 17 October, 1945.
Sculpture. Full member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko Prize Winner. Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1972 (teachers M. Lysenko and M. Vronsky). Had creative work from 1972 till 1975, since1990 has been the Head of the National Artists Union in Ukraine. Continues and develops the best achievements of Kyiv school of sculpture of the XXth century in his art. Works in field of monumental and easel plastics. Works: monumental sculpture - memorable signs to Decembrists in Kamyanka, Cherkasy Region (1975) and Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Region (1987), monuments to the Warriors of the 26th Army in South - Western front in Kaniv, Cherkasy Region (co-worker, 1981), to the Heroes of Malyn underground in Malyn, Zhytomyr Region (co-author in 1984), to Shipbuilders in Mykolaiv (1990), to T.Shevchenko in Shevchenko town (Kazakhstan, 1991), Chernigiv (1992), Uzgorod (1995), to the victims of Chornobyl disaster (Kyiv, 1994)to the victims of repressions in Bykivnya Wood near Kyiv (1995), to the killed policemen (Kyiv, 1998), to M. Hrushevsky in Kyiv (1999), to M. Yakovchenko (Kyiv, 2000), to O. Honchar (Kyiv, 2001); easel sculpture - forced crossing of the Dnipro (1973), 'On the firing border' (1975), 'Spidermen' (1981), 'Defenders of Kyiv' (1983) 'Anti - tank riflemen' (1985), 'Pain'(1997), portraits of M. Ge (1988), S. Vasylkivsky (1988), K. Bryullov (1989), O. Murashko (1989). Has been working in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (the chair of sculpture), since 1992 - professor, since 1995 - the chief of educational - creative studio.
