Was born in the village of Klishkivtsi, Chernivtsi Region on 5, August, 1933.
Graphic. Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine, the Member of the National Artists Union in Ukraine.
Graduated from Kyiv Fine Arts Institute in 1963 (the studio of the book graphic after V. Kasiyan). Teachers - I. Pleshchynsky, G. Yakutovych.
Works in the fields of book graphic, the art of print, introligation. Original interpreter of the images in classic literature, realized by means of engraving and plastics of etching. Pays much attention to the solution of a book block in the full complex of it's elements. Creates original individual frames. Works on improving print culture. Created original compositions of notices where print has not only informational functions but aesthetical as well.
Works: illustrations and design to the drama "Stone host" by Lesya Ukrayinka (1965), "Sonnets" by W. Shakespeare (1966), poems "Night thoughts of the old master" by M. Bazhan (1976), works by O. Honchar (1975), series of poetry "Autumn in Holosievo" (1985), "Nobody loved so" (1987) by V. Sosyura, "Night sorcery" by O. Oles (1989), "Somewhere in the depth of my heart" (1991); the series of post-card - portraits "The classics of Ukrainian literature" (1966), heraldry and attributes for the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (1993-1994).
Has been working at the chair of the graphic arts in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture since 1962, since 1980 - professor, since 1973 - the chief of the studio of book graphic (now the design of the book). From 1972 till 1975 - the dean of the painting, graphic and sculpture faculties.
